Summer League 2023/24: 16th round results

Global United has once again underscored their supremacy in Division 1, clinching their 14th consecutive victory and securing the league title following their triumphant summer league campaign. Their latest triumph came at the expense of Joburg City, edging them out with a 3-2 victory.

The competition remains fierce with numerous catch-up matches yet to play, where double points have been awarded in three of the last four games. Notably, Sundowners FC 2 overcame Sundowners with a 3-2 scoreline, while Ranburg succumbed to Highlands in a high-scoring 6-5 defeat.

In a turn of fortunes at the bottom of the table, Leeds’ 3-1 victory over Panorama propelled them to 8th place, overtaking Atletico who now finds themselves languishing at the bottom.

Switching our focus to Division 2, the landscape of the competition has intensified. Old Parks clinched a crucial 3-2 win against Lenasia in Monday night’s showdown, narrowing the gap to the summit to just one point, albeit having played an extra game.
The battle for supremacy saw Warriors securing a 3-2 victory over Florida, while Old Parks 2 dramatically closed in on Randfontein following a decisive 6-3 win against GPMI in a pivotal six-pointer match. Meanwhile, Rush and Flying Eagles were locked in a 1-1 stalemate, each taking home a single point from the encounter.
