Thrilling Night of Finals at Panorama Sports Club
It was an electric evening at Panorama Sports Club as all three Summer Cup finals were played simultaneously, giving supporters non-stop action across all divisions.
Division 3 Final:
Sandton Warriors, fresh from their promotion to Division 2, faced Florida Albion. In a surprising result, Florida delivered a great performance, defeating Warriors 4-1 to claim the title.
Division 2 Final:
Lenasia and Leeds battled in a tightly contested match. Both sides exchanged goals in a high-quality encounter, but Leeds emerged victorious with a 3-2 win after a fantastic display from both teams.
Division 1 Final:
The evening’s main event saw Global United and Joburg City, the top two teams in the league, clash for the Summer Cup crown. Global United started strong, racing to a 2-0 lead. However, discipline issues and several yellow cards allowed Joburg City to mount a comeback, leveling the score at 2-2.
With nothing separating the sides after regulation time, the final was settled by penalties. The shootout was flawless except for Joburg City’s opening miss, which proved decisive. Global United converted all five of their penalties to secure a 5-4 victory and lift the cup for the 3rd time in history
