What was originally scheduled as Round 1 — postponed due to bad weather — finally took place as the closing round of the group stage, and it delivered decisive outcomes across all divisions, locking in the semifinal line-ups for the cup.

Division 1
Global sealed their dominance at the top of the table with a confident win over Randburg, while Flying Eagles clinched the second qualifying spot. Over in Group B, Joburg City impressed with a 4-1 victory against Sundowners, joining Barcelona in the semifinals.

Division 2
Lenasia stormed to a commanding 6-0 win over GPMI, claiming top honors in their group alongside Leeds. In the other group, Old Parks had already booked their place, but it was Rush FC who edged through to the final four.

Division 3
Old Parks 2 and Panorama advanced after the latter’s 4-1 win over Randburg. Meanwhile, Sandton Warriors defeated Florida in a high-scoring 6-3 thriller — though both sides progressed from the group thanks to earlier results.

The stage is now set — it’s semifinal time!

Summer League Cups, round 3

With a night of clear skies, every match in Round 2 was completed, adding intensity to the race for semifinal spots across all divisions.

Division 1:
Flying Eagles secured a 3-0 win over Randburg by default, as Randburg were unable to field a team. In the other fixture, Joburg City kicked off their campaign with a hard-fought 2-1 away win against Barcelona. With just one round to go, both groups remain tightly contested, and the final fixtures will determine who progresses to the semifinals.

Division 2:
Leeds edged GPMI in a thrilling 7-5 encounter, keeping Group A wide open heading into the final round. In Group B, Old Parks locked in a home semifinal spot after defeating Rush. Rush and Rietvlei are now set for a decisive showdown for the second semifinal berth.

Division 3:
Old Parks 2 also clinched a home semifinal, defeating Randburg 5-3. The final qualifying spot in Group A will be decided between Randburg and Panorama. In Group B, Sandton Warriors beat Randfontein, eliminating them from contention. The group remains undecided, with the last match to determine who earns the home advantage in the semifinals.
